Musician and facilitator Mattijane Epperson has had a long time interest in music accessibility through vulnerability and collaboration. A diverse array of experiences and interests led her to study, compose, and perform several different kinds of music on the path to find healing in the creation and sharing of art.

These creative experiences color her work as a youth facilitator and teaching artist. Since being an arts leader in grade school, Mattijane finds passion in uplifting youth voices, and offering opportunities to those who may not have them. She now shares her work week with being a teaching artist and working behind the scenes to coordinate more impactful programming.

Mattijane acquired her Bachelor's in Music at Western Michigan University, studying composition and jazz. In her off time, she is tending to her own songwriting practices as Mattijane Brooks.
